ST. PAUL, Minn. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, is partnering with the National Park Service and Mississippi Park Connection to host an open house at the Upper St. Anthony Falls Lock and Dam, in Minneapolis, on Saturday, July 27, to coincide with the city’s Aquatennial festival.
The open house – located at 1 Portland Ave. in downtown Minneapolis – will run from 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m., with live music on the lock wall beginning at 5:30 p.m.
The free event includes access to the St. Anthony Falls Visitor Center and will be staffed by volunteers from participating agencies to provide information about the falls and its place in Minnesota history.
Nearby activities as part of the Aquatennial festival include the Aquatennial’s Family Fun Zone, beginning at 4 p.m. just outside the lock gate, and a host of food vendors just a short walk from the lock and dam.
