Published May 7, 2019

ST. PAUL, Minn. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District – in partnership with the National Park Service – will open its doors and provide access to the Upper St. Anthony Falls Lock during the Doors Open Minneapolis event, running May 18-19, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.

Visitors to the site will experience the panoramic views of the historic Upper St. Anthony Falls Lock and Dam, St. Anthony Falls and the surrounding mill district. The free event, which will be staffed by volunteers from the Corps of Engineers, National Park Service and Mississippi Park Connection, includes access to the St. Anthony Falls Visitor Center and an opportunity to learn about the historical significance of the area.

The weekend-long event is part of Doors Open Minneapolis, which provides the public with free access to buildings in the city of Minneapolis that are architecturally, culturally or socially significant.
