Corps inducts Eden Prairie, Minn., resident to district’s Hall of Fame

ST. PAUL, Minn. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, selected Eden Prairie, Minnesota, resident Bruce Boldon as its 2018 Hall of Fame recipient.

Boldon served the St. Paul District for 29 years, retiring in 2015 as chief of the Operations Division, a leadership and management position which includes oversight of 13 locks and dams on the Mississippi River, maintenance of the 9-foot navigation channel and operation of 16 campgrounds throughout the district. Boldon deployed to manage recovery field offices in two national disasters to include the Grand Forks, North Dakota, flood in 1997, and Hurricane Gustav in Louisiana in 2008. In 2003, Boldon deployed to Iraq as the senior Corps civilian as a part of the initial on-site team.

Before joining the Corps of Engineers Boldon, who was born in Minneapolis and raised in Sparta, Wisconsin, served as an Army active duty officer for 11 years after graduating from U.S. Military Academy West Point, New York, in 1979.

Boldon was recognized with the honor during the district’s 2018 Retirees’ Reunion and Hall of Fame luncheon in Eagan, Minnesota, Sept. 13.
