The applicant is proposing to dredge approximately 2,200 cubic yards of sediment from 1.97 acres within the St. Croix River at Hi- Line Beach. The dredging contractor will use standard mechanical methods to remove sediments (sand) from the riverbed in the North Beach (Site 1), South Beach (Site 2), and Inlet Channel (Site 3). An excavator will be operated off a barge to complete the planned work. The barge will be moved around to each project footprint and spudded where needed. Dredging will remove sediments that have settled in habitats less than 5 ft deep (1.5 m) based on a water surface elevation of 674.6 ft (205.6 m). All dredge spoils will be scooped onto a barge where they will be allowed to dewater, prior to being spread in nearby uplands.
