U.S. Steel Keetac Tailing Basin

The applicant is requesting a DA permit for wetland impacts associated with the proposed Keetac Tailings Basin Management Project. The applicant requests authorization to permanently discharge fill material into 78.77 acres of wetlands and temporarily discharge fill material (construction access) into 1.21 acres of wetlands to increase the storage capacity of the existing Stage 2 Exterior Tailings Basin by vertically raising the exterior dikes and dams and constructing a new tailings separation facility.
