  • Corps of Engineers awards $6.9 million McGregor Lake Stage 2 option

    ST. PAUL, Minn. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, is awarding the second part of the McGregor Lake Habitat Rehabilitation and Enhancement Project today, to Dubuque Barge and Fleeting Service Company doing business as Newt Marine Service, of Dubuque, Iowa. The $6.9 million option award will go toward the stage 2 construction contract in the Upper Mississippi River National Wildlife and Fish Refuge located near Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin.

    ST. PAUL, Minn. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, is seeking comments on its draft feasibility report and integrated Environmental Assessment, or EA, for its proposed Reno Bottoms Habitat Rehabilitation and Enhancement Project on the Upper Mississippi River near New Albin, Iowa.
  • Corps completes county road work for Interstate 29 grade raise project

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, along with the Metro Flood Diversion Authority and the North Dakota Department of Transportation, announce the completion of county road construction in the vicinity of Oxbow, Hickson, and Bakke, North Dakota. As of Saturday, Oct. 22, County Roads 18 and 81 are open for traffic in all directions, including access to Interstate 29 ramps. Also new, the County Road 18/81 intersection is now a four-way stop.

  • Corps of Engineers begins annual drawdown of Ashtabula and Homme lakes

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, will drawdown or lower levels of two North Dakota reservoirs, Lake Ashtabula behind Baldhill Dam, near Valley City, starting Monday, Oct. 3, and Homme Lake behind Homme Reservoir, near Park River, starting in November.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, is hosting four public open house events to obtain input on the future of both Lower St. Anthony Falls Lock and Dam, and Lock and Dam 1. The projects are located on the Mississippi River between Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minnesota.
  • Corps awards $7.7 million contract for habitat restoration in Upper Pool 4

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, awarded a $7.7 million contract to LS Marine, Inc., of Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota, Sept. 26, 2022, to use dredged material, or river sand, from the head of Lake Pepin to restore backwater river habitat near Bay City, Wisconsin.
  • Corps and its partners celebrate Twin Cities restoration project completion

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District; the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources; and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Midwest Region will celebrate the completion of an environmental restoration project for the Minnesota Valley National Wildlife Refuge with a ribbon cutting ceremony Tuesday, Oct. 11, at 10:30 a.m. in Shakopee, Minnesota.
