    ST. PAUL, Minn. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, released a draft environmental assessment on a proposed action to unload dredged material from the Grand Encampment Placement Site in Buffalo County, Wis., today, May 23.
  • Minneapolis locks closed to recreational traffic for the second time this spring

    ST. PAUL, Minn. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, closed its three Twin Cities locks to recreational boats today, May 23, due to increasing high water flows in the Mississippi River.
  • Eau Galle campground reopening in time for Memorial Day weekend

    ST. PAUL, Minn. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, is reopening its Highland Ridge Campground at the Eau Galle Dam and Recreation Site, located in Spring Valley, Wis., tomorrow, May 23. The campground was closed the first week of May after the park received more than 14 inches of heavy snowfall that resulted in extensive tree damage.
  • Lake Darling outflows to be increased

    ST. PAUL, Minn. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, will increase outflows through Lake Darling Dam, located upstream of Burlington, N.D., to 300 cubic feet per second this morning and to 1,000 cfs by tomorrow morning.
  • Rainy – Namakan River Basin Conditions Notice

    St Paul, Minn. — Significant rainfall across the Rainy River-Namakan River Basin from May 19 to 21 has led to a rapid rise in lake levels. Rainy Lake will exceed the International Joint Commission’s Upper Rule Curve May 21, and is expected to continue rising in the near term as tributary flows increase. Operators at the dam, near International Falls, Minn., and Fort Frances, Canada, have opened all five canal gates and several dam gates to allow for maximum outflow.
