Eau Galle campground reopening in time for Memorial Day weekend

Published May 22, 2013
ST. PAUL, Minn. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, is reopening its Highland Ridge Campground at the Eau Galle Dam and Recreation Site, located in Spring Valley, Wis., tomorrow, May 23.

The campground was closed the first week of May after the park received more than 14 inches of heavy snowfall that resulted in extensive tree damage.

Eau Galle Reservoir is a 150-acre impoundment surrounded by two day use areas, a beach, two boat launches, one campground and several miles of hiking and equestrian trails. It is located just north of Spring Valley, Wis., 50 miles east of the Twin Cities and 40 miles west of Eau Claire, Wis. There are electric, non-electric and walk-in tent campsites available. The foot trails provide a scenic and relaxing view of the woodlands and wetlands. These trails will lead you to a variety of places from picnic areas and playgrounds to a sandy beach and volleyball courts.
