  • Corps seeks comments on water and sewer project in Cando, North Dakota

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, is seeking comments on the draft Environmental Assessment, or EA, for the city of Cando, North Dakota, water and sewer improvement project located in Towner County, North Dakota.

  • Corps closes bridge at Eau Galle Recreation Area

    ST. PAUL, Minn. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, has closed the bridge at the Northwest Day Use Area at the Eau Galle Recreation Area in Spring Valley, Wisconsin, to all vehicle, pedestrian and equestrian traffic due to the deteriorated conditions of the bridge.

  • Corps hosts open house on McGregor Lake restoration project

    ST. PAUL, Minn. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, is hosting an open house to discuss the McGregor Lake habitat rehabilitation and enhancement project, April 22 at Prairie du Chien public library from 5-7 p.m. The public is welcome to drop in to learn more and meet with staff. There will be no formal presentation. The library is located at 125 S Wacouta Ave., Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin.

  • Maplewood resident receives regional Army Corps of Engineers award

    Mitch Weier of Maplewood, Minnesota, has been named the 2024 Hydrology, Hydraulics and Coastal Community of Practice Water Control Data Systems annual award winner from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Mississippi Valley Division.

  • St. Paul resident receives regional Army Corps of Engineers award

    Dr. Leigh Youngblood of St. Paul, Minnesota, has been named the 2023 Hydrologic Modeling and Statistics & Risk annual award winner from Hydrology, Hydraulics and Coastal Community of Practice within the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Mississippi Valley Division.

  • Minneapolis locks opening April 21 for navigation season

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, is opening Lower St. Anthony Falls Lock and Dam and Lock and Dam 1, both in Minneapolis, to commercial and recreational vessels for the navigation season on Sunday, April 21.

  • Corps and the city of Northfield, Minnesota, partner on environmental project

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, will provide $3.95 million this fiscal year to the city of Northfield, Minnesota, to design and construct a new water treatment facility.

  • Corps partners with Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe for underground water study

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, and the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe, Minnesota, will partner on a groundwater water study for the tribe’s Bug O Nay Ge Shig School to understand the flow of water in the vicinity of the school.

    ST. PAUL, Minn. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, locked the Motor Vessel Joseph Patrick Eckstein with 12 barges through Lock and Dam 2, in Hastings, Minnesota, March 17, en route to St. Paul, Minnesota.

  • Corps awards $42.2 million contract for the Fargo-Moorhead diversion project

    ST. PAUL, Minn. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, awarded a $42.2 million contract to R.J. Zavoral & Sons, Inc. of East Grand Forks, Minnesota, yesterday, March 11, to complete the Southern Embankment Reach SE-2B portion of the Fargo, North Dakota/Moorhead, Minnesota, Metropolitan Area Flood Risk Management Project, which is also known as the FM Area Diversion.
