  • Lake Darling pool is being drawn down to 1,592 ft.

    ST. PAUL, Minn. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, is drawing down Lake Darling’s pool elevation to 1,592 feet. Current releases from Lake Darling Dam of 2,800 cubic feet per second will be maintained to bring the pool down to this elevation by the end of next week.
  • Corps awards $4 million contract to build Mississippi River islands in Pool 9

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, awarded a $4 million contract to McHugh Excavating and Plumbing, Inc., of Onalaska, Wis., Feb. 5 to begin construction on the second and final stage of its Capoli Slough Islands habitat restoration project, taking place five miles south of Lansing, Iowa, in Pool 9 on the Mississippi River.

    ST. PAUL, MINN. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, along with Valley City, N.D., will hold a public meeting to provide a status update to the public to the Valley City Sheyenne River Flood Risk Management Feasibility study Jan. 10, 2013.
  • Media invited to tour dewatered Lock and Dam 7

    ST. PAUL, Minn. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, emptied all of the water out of Lock and Dam 7 recently to complete maintenance.
