  • Corps closing Minneapolis locks to all traffic due to high flows on the Mississippi River

    ST. PAUL, Minn. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, will close its three twin cities locks to commercial navigation at 8 a.m., June 27, when flows surpass 40,000 cubic feet per second, or cfs. The three locks were closed to recreation boaters Monday when flows exceeded 30,000 cfs.

PAUL, Minn. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, will be increasing outflow from Lac Qui Parle Dam, located northwest of Montevideo, Minn., to 4,500 cubic feet per, or cfs, Wednesday, June 26. Depending on additional rainfall, releases from the dam are expected to remain at this level into the first week of July.

  • Eau Galle campground reopening in time for Memorial Day weekend

    ST. PAUL, Minn. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, is reopening its Highland Ridge Campground at the Eau Galle Dam and Recreation Site, located in Spring Valley, Wis., tomorrow, May 23. The campground was closed the first week of May after the park received more than 14 inches of heavy snowfall that resulted in extensive tree damage.
  • Lake Darling outflows to be increased

    ST. PAUL, Minn. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, will increase outflows through Lake Darling Dam, located upstream of Burlington, N.D., to 300 cubic feet per second this morning and to 1,000 cfs by tomorrow morning.
  • Mississippi River Lock and Dam 5A closed May 23 to replace damaged gate

    ST. PAUL, Minn. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, will close Lock and Dam 5A on the Mississippi River, near Fountain City, Wis., Thursday, May 23, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. to replace an upstream miter gate that was severely damaged last week after being struck by a barge.
