  • District attorney selected for national award

    ST. PAUL, Minn. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers headquarters, in Washington D.C., recently selected St. Paul District deputy district counsel and St. Paul, Minnesota resident, Vinai Vinlander as the recipient of the Joseph W. Kimbel award. The award recognizes the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers attorney who demonstrates the highest professional potential for future legal achievement.

    ST. PAUL, Minn. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, is closely monitoring water levels at its Red River of the North reservoirs. Below average precipitation and drought conditions continue to impact reservoir levels and discharges. All locations are releasing the minimum flow or near the minimum flow.

    ST. PAUL, Minn. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, is closely monitoring water levels at its Lac qui Parle reservoir, near Watson, Minnesota. Below average precipitation and drought conditions continue to impact the reservoir level and discharge.
  • Corps continues to monitor its Mississippi River Headwaters reservoirs

    ST. PAUL, Minn. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, continues to monitor water levels at its Mississippi River Headwaters reservoirs. The water levels in the reservoirs, except for Pokegama Lake, are below the summer target level, which is the level maintained for water supply, environmental and recreational benefits. All reservoirs are releasing the minimum flow. The Corps urges boaters to go slow and use caution in lower-than-normal lakes levels.

PAUL, Minn. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, will host three open houses onboard the Motor Vessel Mississippi: • La Crosse, Wisconsin, Aug. 12, 5-7 p.m., at Riverside Park • Wabasha, Minnesota, Aug. 13, 5-7 p.m., at 50 Pembroke Ave. (adjacent to the National Eagle Center) • Red Wing, Minnesota, Aug. 14, 10 a.m.-12 p.m., at Levee Park

Below average precipitation and drought conditions continue to impact reservoir levels and discharges. Recent scattered precipitation in the basin has generally kept the pool elevations level.
  • Corps announces additional temporary closures at Hastings lock and dam to replace nearly 80-year-old gates

    ST. PAUL, Minn. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, will have additional temporary closures at Lock and Dam 2 in Hastings, Minnesota, August 3 and 5 to properly align and seal the lock chamber’s new miter gates. The lock will be closed from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The plan ensures wise management of public access to USACE lands and waters in a manner that protects all project purposes and mission areas through responsible outdoor recreation, environmental conservation and land use management while partnering with communities to serve the American people.
  • Senior Army official visited Fargo-Moorhead flood project today

    ST. PAUL, Minn. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, and Metro Flood Diversion Authority hosted Jaime A. Pinkham, Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Army for Civil Works and Acting Assistant Secretary of the Army for Civil Works, in Fargo, North Dakota, today to tour the Fargo, N.D. /Moorhead, Minn., flood risk management project.
