  • Corps urges extreme caution downstream of Lock and Dam 8

    ST. PAUL, Minn. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, is urging extreme caution downstream of Lock and Dam 8 in Genoa, Wisconsin, the week of Feb. 7. There will be an abundance of ice being released and subsequent open water and/or thin ice, causing possible safety concerns for anyone on the ice downstream.
  • Corps will conduct inspections of Orwell Dam

    ST. PAUL, Minn. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, will conduct a periodic inspection at its Orwell Dam, located on the Otter Tail River near Fergus Falls, Minnesota, Nov. 4-6.
  • Big Sandy Lake dam rehabilitation meeting scheduled

    ST. PAUL, Minn. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, in partnership with the Sandy Lake Association, will host an informational meeting Sat., Nov. 2, following the association’s monthly meeting at 10:30 a.m., at the Big Sandy Lodge and Resort, 20534 487th Street, McGregor, Minnesota.
  • Lac Qui Parle Dam construction update

    ST. PAUL, Minn. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, continues to make repairs to a sinkhole discovered in the Lac Qui Parle Dam embankment on Oct. 28.
  • Corps seeks comments on proposed repair plans for Lock and Dam 1 in Minneapolis

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, is seeking comments on a Clean Water Act evaluation to make repairs at Lock and Dam 1 in Minneapolis. The Corps is developing plans to repair scouring immediately downstream of the dam. The plan includes placing more than 14,000 cubic yards of rock along the entire width of the dam and up to 150 feet downstream. In all, an estimated three acres south of the dam will be impacted by the project.
