Corps conducts drawdown of reservoirs in the Red River of the North basin
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, started the drawdown of its Red River of the North basin reservoirs in preparation of spring flooding. Fall/winter drawdowns are conducted to help manage anticipated snowmelt runoff in the spring. Additional drawdowns may be necessary depending on snow fall amounts over the winter months.

Navigation season ending on the Upper Mississippi River
The last tow of the 2025 Upper Mississippi River navigation season departed St. Paul, Minnesota, Tuesday, Nov. 25. The Motor Vessel Sierra Dawn departed late afternoon enroute to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, Lock and Dam 2, near Hastings, Minnesota, with 12 barges.

Corps of Engineers seeks comments on Chippewa River Diversion Dam sediment removal
ST. PAUL, Minn. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, is seeking comments on a draft Environmental Assessment, or EA, for proposed channel rehabilitation for the Chippewa River Diversion Dam in Chippewa County, Minnesota.
