The Directorate of Civil Works is a major component of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The Civil Works programs include water resource development activities including flood risk management, navigation, recreation, and infrastructure and environmental stewardship. Corps of Engineers announces closure of County Road 33 at Lac qui Parle Emergency Spillway
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, announced today that County Road 33 over the emergency spillway at Lac qui Parle Dam near Watson, Minnesota, is closed to eastbound traffic through November 30.

Corps of Engineers to begin moving river sand in Pool 3
ST. PAUL, Minn. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, and its contractor, L.S. Marine, Inc., of Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota, will mobilize in the next few weeks, to begin moving 450,000 cubic yards of river sand from the Corps Island temporary placement site near Welch, Minnesota, to a permanent upland placement site.
