  • Corps of Engineers announces temporary closures at Lock and Dam 6

    ST. PAUL, Minn. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, is temporarily closing Lock and Dam 6, in Trempealeau, Wisconsin, August 19, 21, 26 and 28, to replace all four main lock chamber miter gates. The lock will be closed to all river traffic, commercial and recreational, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

    ST. PAUL, Minn. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, announced today, that mechanical dredging to increase overall harbor depth will begin in the Winona Small Boat Harbor, also known as Dick’s Marine, in Winona, Minnesota, July 17. Work should be completed by July 31.

    ST. PAUL, Minn. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, awarded a $639,000 contract to Three Oaks Construction, Inc., of North Sioux City, South Dakota, July 11, to repair damage to the St. Vincent Noyes levee, in Noyes, Minnesota.
  • Corps of Engineers seeks comments on Upper Pool 4 dredge cut

    ST. PAUL, Minn. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, is seeking public comments on a draft Environment Assessment, or EA, for a proposed routine dredge cut below Goose Bay in Upper Pool 4 in Pierce County, Wisconsin and Goodhue County, Minnesota. The dredge cut involves establishing a new location for river dredging.
  • Corps of Engineers awards $3.1 million contract for Lock and Dam 7 outdraft modification project

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, awarded a $3.1 million contract to Dubuque Barge & Fleeting Service Company doing business as Newt Marine Service out of Dubuque, Iowa, on July 2. The construction contract will modify the existing rock weir structure to reduce outdraft conditions at Lock and Dam 7, located near La Crescent, Minnesota.

The lock will be closed to all commercial and recreational river traffic, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on these days.
