Corps of Engineers releases Lock and Dam 9 statistics for the 2014 navigation season
ST. PAUL, Minn. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, released the 2014 navigation statistics for the Upper Mississippi River today, Dec. 10. The 2014 navigation season was one of the shortest seasons on record. A historically late start, coupled by summer floods, finished with the earliest closure at Lock and Dam 9, near Lynxville, Wisconsin, since 1970. Despite the challenges, there were 2,948 lockages during the 2014 navigation season. There were 2,855 lockages during the 2013 season.

Corps of Engineers provides Lock and Dam 9 statistics for the 2011 navigation season
ST. PAUL, Minn. – Exactly 4,712 vessels and 11,547,240 tons of cargo passed through Lock and Dam 9, located near Lynxville, Wis., during the 2011 navigation season from March 16-Dec. 6. The Penny Eckstein was the last tow to pass through Dec. 6.
