The Dredge Goetz mobilized from Reads Landing, near Wabasha, Minnesota, May 21. The St. Paul District removes over 1 million cubic yards of river sand from the Mississippi River each year so it remains navigable to commercial and recreation traffic.

USACE offers fee-free days throughout the year to mark days of celebration and commemoration.
