ST. PAUL, Minn. – Come see our shiny new gates! The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, will host a public open house at Lock and Dam 9 near Lynxville, Wisconsin, Sept. 26. This is a rare opportunity for the public to see the four new miter gates that were installed this summer.

Held in conjunction with Germanfest, the event offers the public a rare, behind-the-scenes look at how the Corps maintains the lock, as well as the Mississippi River navigation channel.

Corps of Engineers awards $6.3 million contract for Pool 9 restoration habitat project

ST. PAUL, Minn. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, awarded a $6.3 million contract to Dubuque Barge and Fleeting (doing business as Newt Marine Service) of East Dubuque, Illinois, Aug. 12, for the construction of the Reno Bottoms Habitat Rehabilitation and Enhancement Project on the Upper Mississippi River near New Albin, Iowa.
