  • Corps begins spring drawdowns in the Red River of the North basin

    ST. PAUL, Minn. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, is lowering its reservoirs within the Red River of the North basin based on recent snow measurements to prepare for potential spring snowmelt. Above average snowpack has increased the flood risk for this spring.
  • Corps of Engineers seeks comments on dredging pipeline near Wabasha, MN

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, is seeking public comments on a draft plan to install a pipeline near Reads Landing, Minnesota, that would be used to transport dredged material, or river sand, during maintenance of the Mississippi River navigation channel.

    ST. PAUL, Minn. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, will increase releases at Reservation Dam at Lake Traverse, near Wheaton, Minnesota, beginning Feb. 16, and at White Rock Dam at Mud Lake, near Wheaton, Minnesota, beginning Feb. 17.

    ST. PAUL, Minn. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, is urging extreme caution downstream of Lock and Dam 8 in Genoa, Wisconsin, the week of Feb. 7. There will be an abundance of ice being released and subsequent open water and/or thin ice, causing possible safety concerns for anyone on the ice downstream.
