  • Corps celebrates completion of Sandy Lake Dam rehabilitation

    ST. PAUL, Minn. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, will celebrate the completion of the Sandy Lake Dam rehabilitation project with a ribbon cutting and dedication ceremony on Aug. 2 at the Sandy Lake Recreation Area at 1 p.m. The recreation area is located at 22205 531st Lane, McGregor, Minnesota.
  • Corps of Engineers awards $6.9 million McGregor Lake Stage 2 option

    ST. PAUL, Minn. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, is awarding the second part of the McGregor Lake Habitat Rehabilitation and Enhancement Project today, to Dubuque Barge and Fleeting Service Company doing business as Newt Marine Service, of Dubuque, Iowa. The $6.9 million option award will go toward the stage 2 construction contract in the Upper Mississippi River National Wildlife and Fish Refuge located near Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin.
  • Corps announces temporary closure at Big Sandy Lake boat ramp

    ST. PAUL, Minn. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, will temporarily close the south boat landing at Big Sandy Lake, near McGregor, Minnesota, to reconstruct the ramp, beginning Sept. 20. The ramp will be closed for about two weeks.
  • Corps campsites at Sandy Lake closed due to dam construction

    ST. PAUL, Minn. –The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, will close its campsites at Sandy Lake Recreation Area near McGregor, Minnesota, through the 2021 recreation season due to construction activities related to the Sandy Lake Dam rehabilitation.
  • Corps signs cost share agreement with Minnesota Department of Natural Resources for Big Sandy Lake study

    ST. PAUL, Minn. –The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, signed a cost share agreement with the Minnesota Department of Resources last week, to study the Big Sandy Lake watershed and the impacts on the aquatic community from the operation of Big Sandy Lake Dam, near McGregor, Minnesota.
