ST. PAUL, Minn. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, selected Eagan, Minnesota, resident Terry Williams as one of its three Civil Servants of the Year for 2016.
The St. Paul District presents this award annually to the top three or four employees of its nearly 600-person staff. Williams, who's worked for the Corps of Engineers for 30 years, is a project manager at the district’s headquarters in St. Paul, Minnesota.
Williams received her award in recognition of her outstanding leadership abilities, technical competence and professional commitment. She received her award at the 39th Annual Minnesota Federal Civil Servant of the Year Awards in Bloomington, Minnesota, at the Double Tree Hotel May 5.
“Terry [Williams] has consistently been a champion for her team and innovative leader as the project manager for the Fargo-Moorhead Diversion Project,” said Aaron Snyder, Williams’ supervisor. “She has an amazing ability to understand the technical engineering requirements of the project, but more importantly, she knows what it takes to motivate and lead her team forward. She is the definition of leadership.”
The nearly 600 U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, employees working at more than 40 sites in five upper-Midwest states serve the American public in the areas of environmental enhancement, navigation, flood damage reduction, water and wetlands regulation, recreation sites and disaster response.
