Corps changes reservation guidelines for Cross Lake Recreation Area for rest of the 2015 recreation season

Published Sept. 4, 2015

ST. PAUL, Minn. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, announces reservation changes to its Cross Lake Recreation Area, in Crosslake, Minnesota, effective Sept. 8.

The Corps’ recreation site will be completely first come, first served for the remainder of the 2015 recreation season as a result of construction improvements to the campground and day-use areas. Once the improvements are complete, the site will reinstate the normal reservation rules to include reservations for the 2016 recreation season.

During the improvements, no vehicle, bike or foot traffic will be allowed in the immediate construction area.

The planned construction schedule includes closing the recreation area from noon, Sept. 27 - Oct. 11. The schedule may change due to weather. Recreators are asked to contact the park office if they have any questions at 651-290-5793.

The nearly 650 U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, employees working at more than 40 sites in five upper-Midwest states serve the American public in the areas of environmental enhancement, navigation, flood damage reduction, water and wetlands regulation, recreation sites and disaster response. Through the Corps’ Fiscal Year 2014 $100 million budget, nearly 1,600 non-Corps jobs were added to the regional economy as well as $155 million to the national economy.
