ST. PAUL, Minn. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, has posted its 2011 Post-Flood Report for the Souris River Basin to its website.
Following historic flooding in 2011 along the Souris River, the Corps prepared a post flood report that was submitted to the International Souris River Board, or ISRB, during the spring meeting in Bismarck, N.D. The report is now available to the public following a short review and comment period by the ISRB. The report outlines 10 recommendations to improve the operating plan contained in Annex A of the 1989 International Agreement.
“The release of this report provides documentation on what happened last year, and the lessons learned covered in it will assist us, other government agencies and the local communities to plan and prepare for any future event,” said Lt. Col. Kendall Bergmann, the St. Paul District’s deputy commander.
The report can be found and downloaded at the St. Paul District’s website: http://www.mvp.usace.army.mil/disaster_response/ and also at the North Dakota State Water Commission’s website: http://www.swc.state.nd.us.
