Corps awards contract for pump station repair in Minot, N.D.

Published April 13, 2012
ST. PAUL, Minn. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, awarded a $750,000 contract to Tunheim Construction, LLC, of Moorhead, Minn., April 6 to repair pump stations in Minot, N.D. and Burlington, N.D.

Six pump stations in Minot and four smaller pump stations between Minot and Burlington will be repaired.

The 10 pump stations covered under the contract were flooded in 2011, making them inoperable. The contractor will clean the pump stations and bring each station back to a fully operational condition. The majority of the work will be to replace damaged electrical components, which will include the control panels at each pump station and the pump motors at the stations in Minot.

Project construction will begin early May and is expected to be completed in the fall of 2012.
