Published May 6, 2019

ST. PAUL, Minn. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, selected Patrick Moes as one of its three Civil Servants of the Year for 2018.

The St. Paul District presents this award annually to the top three or four employees of its nearly 700-person staff. Moes, with 15 years of federal service including nine with the St. Paul District, is a public affairs specialist at the district’s headquarters in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Moes was nominated for the “Excellence Beyond Expectations” for his work on tough projects resulting in better relationships between the Corps of Engineers and its stakeholders. During the past year Moes served as a division-level public affairs officer for the Corps’ South Atlantic Division during Hurricane Florence. Moes is an instructor for the Corps’ risk communication course and supports the development of crisis information systems in Bosnia-Herzegovina, Kosovo and Ukraine.

"Patrick is a consummate professional who consistently goes above and beyond in his daily duties,” said Shannon Bauer, chief of public affairs. “His skill and talent are recognized beyond the district.”

Moes’ award was presented at the 42nd Annual Minnesota Civil Servant of the Year Awards at the Earle Brown Heritage Center in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, May 1.

“I am incredibly humbled to be recognized by my co-workers,” Moes said.
