The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, is changing the reservation policy at two of its Mississippi River Headwaters campsites.
The Corps’ Lake Winnibigoshish Recreation Area, northwest of Deer River, Minnesota, and Pokegama Lake Recreation Area, near Grand Rapids, Minnesota, will now be 100 percent reservable.
Campers can make reservations online at www.recreation.gov or 877-444-6777, for May 1 to Oct. 20. The Corps will accept same-day reservations at these two sites, and campers should verify there is an availability and confirm the reservation prior to setting up their campsite.
Reservations through the park office will not be available.
