Capoli Slough mussel monitoring
St. Paul District biologists and divers recently conducted mussel monitoring, six years after construction of the Capoli Slough Habitat Rehabilitation and Enhancement Project in Pool 9 near Lansing, Iowa. Monitoring is part of Endangered Species Act compliance for the federally endangered Higgins eye mussel. Results will be compared to pre-project monitoring to better assess the beneficial effects of the project on mussels.
