Guttenberg named Iowa Rivers Revival's River Town of the Year
Lockmaster Sam Mathiowetz gave a tour of lock and dam facilities and LM Heritage House to Guttenberg City Manager Denise Schneider with Susan Heathcote and Robin Fortney of Iowa Rivers Revival as part of the 2019 IA River Town of the Year award. Guttenberg was recently named River Town of the Year as a "historic German community is nestled in the heart of the Upper Mississippi River National Fish and Wildlife Refuge, next to stately U.S. Army Corp of Engineer Lock and Dam Number 10 and numerous local, state and private natural resource ares. Guttenberg is a shining example of an Iowa community that embraces its past, welcomes its future and recognizes its potential!"
