Planning efforts underway after latest NWS spring hydrologic outlook
The US National Weather Service North Central River Forecast Center's latest Spring Hydrologic Outlook was published March 7, and states there continues to be an above to much above normal chance of widespread flooding in the Upper Mississippi River basin including its headwaters tributaries. As such the St. Paul District continues planning efforts that have been ongoing throughout winter, and we're currently gathering data and monitoring conditions on the ground to identify areas that would be most impacted. This evaluation ensures we can supplement state and local efforts for potential spring flooding, and be ready to provide direct support should a flood emergency be declared.
