Published Nov. 4, 2024
Expiration date: 12/6/2024

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, is seeking comments on its draft Lake Traverse Water Control Manual update. The manual was last revised in 1994. The purpose of the decision document with an integrated Environmental Assessment  is to update the Lake Traverse WCM to better meet mission objectives based on changes in flood frequencies, land use and the most current data available. The objective of the decision document is to optimize the manual to maximize benefits to people, infrastructure, and the environment within the basin, while reducing flood and water supply risk to the extent practicable. This decision document presents a detailed account of the planning, regulatory and environmental considerations resulting in a Tentatively Selected Plan . The TSP, if approved, would be incorporated and subsequently lead to a revision of the Lake Traverse Water Control Manual.

Comments  on the draft decision document should be provided no later than December 6, 2024. Persons submitting comments are advised that all comments received will be available for public review, to include the possibility of posting on a public website. Comments can be sent via email to Lake.Traverse@usace.army.mil. Please address all mail correspondence on this project, to District Commander, St. Paul District, Corps of Engineers, ATTN: Regional Planning and Environment Division North, 332 Minnesota Street, Suite E1500, St. Paul, Minnesota 55101.
