ST. PAUL, Minn. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, is seeking public comments on its draft environmental assessment for the proposed Big Sand Lake shoreline stabilization project in Burnett County, Wisconsin, within the St. Croix Chippewa Reservation.

WASHINGTON - The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers today released a Natural Resources Management Strategic Plan that provides a framework for the future of the USACE Natural Resources Management (NRM) program. The plan ensures wise management of public access to USACE lands and waters in a manner that protects all project purposes and mission areas through responsible outdoor recreation, environmental conservation and land use management while partnering with communities to serve the American people.
Corps of Engineers and Turtle Mountain Band partner on Shell Valley Aquifer project study
ST. PAUL, Minn. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, signed a cost sharing agreement this week with the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa Indians of North Dakota, to study the hydrogeology and groundwater flow of the Shell Valley Aquifer in Rolette County, North Dakota.
Corps awards contract for Pigs Eye Lake habitat restoration project
ST. PAUL, Minn. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, in partnership with Minnesota’s Ramsey County awarded a $14.7 million contract to LS Marine, Inc., of St. Paul, Minnesota, June 25, to restore habitat on Pigs Eye Lake, located in upper Pool 2 of the Mississippi River.

ST. PAUL, Minn. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, recently awarded a $2.4 million contract to Water Works Dock & Boat Lifts, Inc. of Stoddard, Wisconsin, to repair a Mississippi River habitat restoration project approximately 40 miles south of La Crosse, Wisconsin, that was damaged by recent flooding events.
