The applicant is requesting a DA permit to discharge fill material into 1.50 acres of wetlands for the purpose of expanding an existing utility materials storage yard. Impacted wetlands on site consist of a low-quality shallow marsh community dominated by invasive plant species. Expanding the yard would support active and near-term electric transmission construction projects undertaken by the American Transmission Company in the Green Bay and Port of Green Bay industrial area. The expansion would provide sufficient space for the staging, handling, and secure storage of large electric transmission materials, including transformers, steel monopoles, conductor reels, and associated hardware necessary to construct, rebuild, and maintain regional high-voltage transmission infrastructure.
