The Summer 2020 edition of Crosscurrents is now available
As part of the district's Dredged Material Management Plan, the public, private entities and government agencies are encouraged to take dredged material free of charge from Corps of Engineers' material stockpiles.

Around the District

The USCGC Wyaconda, a buoy tender homeported in Dubuque, Iowa, heading upriver at Lock and Dam 10 March 17, 2020. They are working on setting channel markers and inspecting other navigation aids along the Upper Mississippi River navigation channel.
Lock and dam staff from the St. Paul District volunteered to come to Lock and Dam 3, near Welch, Minnesota, to help prepare sandbags for spring flooding. Staff borrowed the machine to fill sandbags from the nearby Xcel energy nuclear power plant.

ST. PAUL, Minn. –The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, is seeking public comments on a draft Environmental Assessment, or EA, released today, July 1, for the drain 27 wetland restoration project in Fargo, North Dakota.

Lewiston resident selected for prestigious award
ST. PAUL, Minn. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mississippi Valley Division, recently selected St. Paul District Channels and Harbors Section Supervisor and Lewiston, Minnesota, resident Steve Tapp as the division’s nominee for the national Outstanding Civilian of the Year Award.
