ST. PAUL, Minnesota – Terry Zien, St. Paul District hydraulic engineer, received the annual Floodplain Manager Award for distinguished service in floodplain management at the Minnesota Association of Floodplain Managers, or MnAFPM, conference in Moorhead, Minnesota, Nov. 19.

He was nominated by a number of Minnesota state agencies. The MnAFPM annual conference attendees consist of federal, state and local government officials, planners, engineers, consultants, researchers, educators, watershed organizations, realtors, appraisers and insurance agents. The conference agenda focuses on hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, recovery programs, flood control projects, stream restorations, case studies and mapping.
