  • Corps awards contract for bank stabilization near Fountain City, Wisconsin

    ST. PAUL, Minn. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, awarded a $347,400 contract to LS Marine, Inc., out of Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota, Nov. 16, for bank stabilization at Wilds Bend, near Fountain City, Wisconsin, in Pool 5 of the Mississippi River. Wilds Bend is a temporary dredged material, or river sand, storage site.

    ST. PAUL, Minn. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mississippi Valley District, recently awarded the Corps’ St. Paul District Small Boat Instructor Team its 2023 Water Safety Award for the work they have done teaming up with local emergency management services to conduct water rescue near locks and dams.
  • Corps of Engineers awards $6.9 million McGregor Lake Stage 2 option

    ST. PAUL, Minn. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, is awarding the second part of the McGregor Lake Habitat Rehabilitation and Enhancement Project today, to Dubuque Barge and Fleeting Service Company doing business as Newt Marine Service, of Dubuque, Iowa. The $6.9 million option award will go toward the stage 2 construction contract in the Upper Mississippi River National Wildlife and Fish Refuge located near Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin.
