  • Corps seeks public comments on proposed Harpers Slough repairs

    ST. PAUL, Minn. –The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, is seeking public input on its draft Environmental Assessment, or EA, for proposed repairs for the Harpers Slough Habitat Rehabilitation and Enhancement Project in Pool 9 of the Upper Mississippi River, near Lansing, Iowa.
  • Corps announces road closure at Mel Rieman Recreation Area

    ST. PAUL, Minn. –The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, announced today that the road through the Mel Rieman Recreation Area on Lake Ashtabula near Valley City, North Dakota, will be closed effective immediately. A failing culvert has produced unsafe driving conditions.
  • Army Corps of Engineers seeks public comments on proposal to renew and revise nationwide permits

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers announced today it is seeking comments on its proposal to renew and revise 52 nationwide permits for work in wetlands and other waters that are regulated by Section 404 of the Clean Water Act and/or Section 10 of the Rivers and Harbors Act of 1899. In addition, USACE is proposing to issue five new nationwide permits that pertain to authorizing seaweed mariculture activities, finfish mariculture activities, electric utility line and telecommunications activities, utility line activities for water and other substances, and water reclamation and reuse facilities.

PAUL, Minn. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Headquarters in Washington, D.C., recently selected Lakeville, Minnesota, resident and St. Paul District senior hydraulic engineer Ann Banitt as the recipient of its Hydrology, Hydraulics and Coastal Community of Practice Professional of the Year Award.
  • Corps to temporarily reduce flows at Orwell Dam

    ST. PAUL, Minn. –The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, will be reducing flows from Orwell Dam, near Fergus Falls, Minnesota, starting at 7 a.m. on June 9, in order to allow Otter Tail County staff to relocate mussels for a bridge replacement project downstream of the dam.
