Corps posts hours of operations at Lower St. Anthony Falls Lock and Dam and Lock and Dam 1

Published March 17, 2016

ST. PAUL, Minn. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, announced the hours of operation will remain a single, 10-hour shift, seven days a week, at Lower St. Anthony Falls Lock and Dam and Lock Dam 1. These locks are both located in Minneapolis.

The hours of operation for both locks will be 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., 7 days a week. Level of service determinations are reviewed on an annual basis. If actual usage trends in future years are different from what is anticipated, the level of service may be adjusted.

The nearly 650 U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, employees working at more than 40 sites in five upper-Midwest states serve the American public in the areas of environmental enhancement, navigation, flood damage reduction, water and wetlands regulation, recreation sites and disaster response. Through the Corps’ Fiscal Year 2014 $100 million budget, nearly 1,600 non-Corps jobs were added to the regional economy as well as $155 million to the national economy.
