Corps cancels Feb. 20 McGregor Lake habitat meeting due to weather

Published Feb. 19, 2014

ST. PAUL, Minn. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, is cancelling an open house it had planned to host in Prairie du Chien Feb. 20 because of a forecasted winter storm.

The open house was to be held at Prairie du Chien City Hall from 5-8 p.m. in order to solicit input on potential projects to improve the habitat of McGregor Lake. The Corps will issue a new announcement, if the meeting is rescheduled.

The nearly 650 U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, employees working at more than 40 sites in five upper-Midwest states serve the American public in the areas of environmental enhancement, navigation, flood damage reduction, water and wetlands regulation, recreation sites and disaster response. Through the Corps’ Fiscal Year 2011 $175 million budget, nearly 2,800 non-Corps jobs were added to the regional economy as well as $271 million to the national economy.
