Corps of Engineers recognizes Maplewood, Minn., resident

ST. PAUL, Minn. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, selected Maplewood, Minn., resident James Mosner as one of its three Civil Servants of the Year this year.

The St. Paul District presents this award annually to the top three or four of its 700 employees. Mosner, who's worked for the Corps of Engineers for more than 33 years, is the Chief of the Civil-Site Section in Engineering Division’s Design Branch. In this role, he oversees 20 employees working on regional water resource projects. He also serves as the district’s quality manager, ensuring that appropriate review processes are followed and assisting with the standardization of regional business processes.

He received this award in recognition for his outstanding leadership during the past year. “Jim [Mosner] sets the example for a great supervisor and leader,” said his supervisor, Marsha Mose. “He is honest, caring and empathic and is actively involved with professional organizations and development of young engineers. He is constantly working to make better products, a better work environment and a better organization.”

Mosner will receive his award at the 35th Annual Minnesota Federal Civil Servant of the Year Awards in St. Paul, Minn., May 4.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, serves the American public in the areas of environmental enhancement, navigation, flood damage reduction, water and wetlands regulation, recreation sites and disaster response.
