Wetland Types - Bogs
Bogs are wetlands with acidic, peaty soils and a carpet of Sphagnum mosses. Growing on the mossy mat are sedges, orchids, pitcher plants, evergreen shrubs and often scrubby black spruce and tamarack trees.
